CSI

Trash Tosser
Suspects:
- Bull
- Raccoon

Evidence:
- Types of trash being disposed (Fish bone, Banana Peel, Bones, Glass Bottles)

Bull is a herbivore and only eats plants. Raccoon is an omnivore and eats both plants and animals. Hence, Raccoon is the trash tosser.

Reflection on 'Moonwalking Bear':
I've seen this video before. (: For the first time when I saw the video, I was too focused on counting the number of passes in which the team in white actually made that I wasn't aware of the other things happening in the video (such as the Moonwalking Bear).

Crime Scene Investigation:

  • List the physical evidence that you have found on the various crime scenes.
  • What are the field of studies that were brought up in the case study?
  • What qualities should you possess or cultivate to be a good investigator?

General information:
- Victim is Robert Hughes, a middle-aged Caucasian male. Foul play is suspected but a motive is yet to be determined.
- Break-in followed by a struggle.
- Hughes not a discreet man and known for philandering and flaunting his wealth.
- Motive could be jealousy or crime for passion.
- Pretty blonde (1pm to 2pm- good mood) and Feisty redhead (4pm to 4.15pm- angry). Blonde never seen before. Redhead seen before.
- Strange man walking back and forth at 10.15pm (night of the murder)
- Lock on back door forced open by tool. Foot steps on mud.
- Struggle between suspect and victim.

Place of Entry (Evidence):

  • Footwear impressions allow you to match the impression with actual footwear owned by suspect. (Men's size 11 'Doc Martin' boot RIGHT. Heel worn at the back - Suspect drags feet)
  • Toolmark impressions allow you to match the impression with actual tools owned by suspect. (Two different types of mark made by same tool. Crowbar? - Compression)
  • Paint examination allows you to match a tool to the crime scene, when the tool is found. (Find another to compare)
  • Computer composites can help with suspect identification. (1 man - Bright Lights R' Us electrician. 2 women - 1 blonde, 1 redhead.)
Place of Struggle (Evidence):
  • Document analysis can verify the authenticity of a document and who the author is. (Guy cheating on girl, girl furious - Jealous, angry and may be strong enough. Girl environmentally conscious - Handmade paper from shop)
  • Hair analysis enables comparisons with the suspect's hair or with hair found on the suspect's clothing (5 different strands of hair, 2 quite long - different shades of blonde, 1 bleached. 3 relatively short  - 2 brown, 1 shade of red [female].
  • Fingerprint analysis is still the predominant means of establishing positive identification. (30 different sets. Crystal vase used to hit victim - 1 set of print found on it. [either killer's fingerprints OR killer wore gloves and someone else touched vase] 1 set - Victim, 1 set[not on vase]- Pat the Rat, has a criminal record.)
  • Fiber analysis rests on the principle that whenever two individuals are in contact, materials (dust, paint, cloth...) are exchanged at a microscopic level.(Fibers on fragment of broken chair. 50% wool and 50% polyester. Dyed black. Common weaving for sweaters.)
Place of Murder (Evidence):
  • Blood stain pattern analysis tells you how a crime was committed. (Occurred when victim stabbed in neck - hit cartoid artery, blood comes out in spurts. Attacker lunged at victim downward - as tall as victim 5"9, experienced at fights)
  • Wound analysis can help with identifying the murder weapon. (1 neck, 1 heart. Narrow, 4-inch blade.
  • Blood analysis lets you identify a victim or a suspect, because DNA is unique to each individual. (2 traces - 1 victim, 1 woman in bathroom)
  • Victim dead for 12 hours. Approximately 10.30 pm the previous night.
CONCLUSION: PAT THE RAT IS THE MURDERER. >:D
